Marvel's Agent Carter, or simply Agent Carter, is an American television series created for ABC by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely. It is set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), sharing continuity with the films and other television series of the franchise.
Picking up after the events of Captain America: The First Avenger, the first season takes place in 1946 with Peggy having to balance the routine office work she does for the Strategic Scientific Reverse (SSR) in New York City while secretly assisting Howard Stark. The second season follows Carter as she moves to Los Angeles to deal with the threats of the new Atomic Age by the Secret Empire in the aftermath of World War II.
Why It Was Cancelled Edit
Viewership was steadily falling, forcing ABC to cancel the show after two seasons. According to Hayley Atwell, Carter's actress, another reason was because ABC wanted to bring her into a show that was more mainstream, which resulted in Conviction, though that show was eventually cancelled as well. Fortunately, Agent Carter's story is still continued through flashbacks featured in the companion series, Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D..
