Constantine is an American television series developed by Daniel Cerone and David S. Goyer, featuring the DC Comics character John Constantine.
John Constantine, a seasoned demon hunter and dabbling master of the occult, must struggle with his past sins while protecting the innocent from the converging supernatural threats that constantly break to our world due to the "Rising Darkness." Using his skills and a supernatural scry map, Constantine balances his actions upon the line of good and evil and journeys across the nation to send these terrors back to their own world, all for the hope of redeeming his soul from eternal torment.
Why It Was Cancelled Edit
The series suffered from low ratings during its one season run. Regardless, the series continued its story through a crossover with shows set within The CW series Arrowverse, particularly the fourth season of Arrow, and two episodes for the third season of Legends of Tomorrow before returning for the latter's fourth season as a series regular. The show was also reinvented as an animated web series, Constantine: City of Demons, which is tentatively tied to the live-action series and said universe and set in the same fictional universe as the 2017 animated film Justice League Dark. The new series debuted on The CW's streaming platform, CW Seed, on March 24, 2018 after premiering at WonderCon in 2018.
