Batman Beyond (known as Batman of the Future in Europe, Latin America, Australia, and Asia) is an American animated television series developed by Bruce Timm, Paul Dini, and Alan Burnett and produced by Warner Bros. Animation in collaboration with DC Comics as a continuation of the Batman legacy. It is set in the chronological future of Bruce Timm's DC animated universe, and serves as a continuation of both Batman: The Animated Series and The New Batman Adventures.
Premise[]
Set in the futuristic world of Neo-Gotham, the series follows a teenage Batman, Terrence "Terry" McGinnis, under the tutelage of an elderly Bruce Wayne to serve as the masked vigilante.
Why It Was Cancelled[]
After three seasons and one direct-to-video film, the series was picked up for a fourth season, but was initially shelved in favor of production for the Justice League animated series.
