Pushing Daisies is an American fantasy mystery comedy-drama television series created by Bryan Fuller for ABC.

Premise[]

The show centers on the life of Ned, a pie maker gifted with the mysterious ability to reanimate the dead by touching them. Some conditions come with this talent. Ned quickly learns that if something is revived for more than exactly one minute, a similar "life value" in the vicinity drops dead, as a form of balance. Additionally, if he touches the revived person or thing a second time, they die again, permanently. Together with his formerly deceased childhood crush Chuck, private investigator Emerson Cod and co-worker Olive Snook, Ned uses his abilities to to solve murder cases.

Why It Was Cancelled[]

Because of the Writer's Guild strike, the show completed just nine episodes of a 22-episode season. Instead of attempting to complete the first season, the writers planned to begin work on the second season with production resuming around March to June 2008. While the show was picked up for a second season, ratings were declining and ABC opted not to order additional episodes beyond the second season's initial thirteen.

Fuller published a comic on the show's official site with new mysteries and background information not seen in the television episodes. He also expressed desire to produce a feature film to wrap things up.
